Blackridge Film
About

One trade,
done properly.

Blackridge Film is a window film specification and installation firm based in Toronto. We work on homes, schools, and commercial properties across the Greater Toronto Area — Toronto, Peel, Halton, York, and Durham — and occasionally beyond.

We're a sister brand of Blackridge Film USA, our South Florida operation installing the same architectural film systems for waterfront residences and commercial glazing. Same ownership, same standards, same catalog.

We install a single manufacturer's architectural film line exclusively. That's on purpose. You can't stand behind a warranty you didn't verify yourself, and we'd rather know one catalog end to end than carry every product on the market.

Process

Four steps, in order.

Every engagement starts with us walking the property. The spec comes after we've seen the glass, heard the brief, and understood how you actually use the space.

  1. 01

    Walk-Through

We come out and look at every window. Takes an hour or two. We note the orientations, the threats, and how you actually live or work in the space.

  2. 02

    Specification

We match a film to each window based on how it faces, what's behind it, and what you're trying to solve. Not the same film on every pane. Walk-through to firm quote is typically within one week.

  3. 03

    Installation

Scheduling usually runs about two weeks from quote approval. Most jobs install in one to two days with a crew of one or two. After install there's a ninety-day glazing period while the film cures.

  4. 04

    Warranty

The manufacturer warranty gets registered in your name. Lifetime for residential on most films, ten to fifteen years on commercial.

Principles
01

Walk first. Spec second.

Every install starts with a walk of the property. The spec sheet comes after we've seen the views, the hours, the threats, and the finishes you're protecting.

02

One manufacturer.

We install one architectural film line, exclusively. Warranty, performance data, and long-term adhesive stability are all known quantities, not guesses.

03

The install is the product.

Film is only as good as the person cutting and laying it. Our installers are in-house, vetted, and accountable for every pane they touch.

Product Standards

How the film we install is tested.

The standards below are the published manufacturer test certifications for the architectural film we install. We don't publish our manufacturer publicly; the warranty paperwork you receive on install will name them.

ASTM F3561

Our security film line is tested to the ASTM F3561 forced-entry resistance standard after simulated active-shooter events.

EN 356

Our security film is classified under the EN 356 European standard for resistance to manual attack.

CPSC 16 CFR 1201 & UL 972

Safety-security films we install meet U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission 16 CFR 1201 safety-glazing requirements and UL 972 burglary-resistant glazing standards.

Skin Cancer Foundation Seal

Select UV-protection films we install carry the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation for skin-health applications.
